The right group rules do two things at once: they protect your members from the spammy behaviour that kills communities, and they make your group feel like a place worth staying. Get them right and your group becomes the safe space where the conversations that lead to clients actually happen.
Your approval questions are your first line of filtering. They tell you who is serious and who is just link-farming, and they hand you the people you can help the moment someone joins.
When a new member answers that first question with a struggle you can help with, that is someone worth a thoughtful message. Reply in the group, then ask permission to take it to a PM. Your group rules have just become part of how you find clients, not just a list of house rules.
A safe group is a growing group. Rules are not restrictions. They are how trust scales.
